If you’re the type of official that stands in the middle of the mat and waits for wrestlers to check-in and come to you. You’re going to get burned in the post season. No coach really cares about who checks in first in week one. But as the post season approaches. THEY START TO CARE. Make sure you walk to the head table after every match and DO NOT the wrong wrestler check in first.
This also helps you keep your head in the game on choice and you never end up looking stupid. I do this for every dual. Including week one. |

I agree and also practice same routine. I won't let the wrestler to check in 2nd even come up to the table until the 1st has checked in. As you mentioned it also confirms who has choece for second period. I also feel it gives you a better sense of 'control' of the mat area. Extra bonus is it allows a chance to get a drink if needed . |
